Support needed now to fund Sleeper Chairs

When someone being cared for in hospital is nearing the end of their life our NHS staff do everything they can to support the patient and their family.
During this difficult time loved ones are welcome to stay on the ward 24 hours a day, which can sometimes mean trying to get much needed rest overnight in uncomfortable hospital chairs.
Through our End of Life Care Appeal we're supporting the Palliative Care team to fund things which make will make a difference when it's needed most.
This week, as part of Dying Matters Awareness Week we got to try out these amazing sleeper chairs which are comfortable as a chair, even more so when extended out to raise the legs, or can even be completely pulled out into a bed for ultimate comfort and opportunity for sleep.
Staff from the wards who came to see the chairs were very impressed and are they are keen to be able to offer one to loved ones who need them.
Each chair costs around £1,470 and we need 16 of them! If you, or someone you know could help us to reach our £23,520 target by donating or fundraising please get in touch!
The chairs are just one of several projects we're funding as part of our appeal so we urgently need extra funds now so that we can start to buy the chairs and deliver them to wards at Leighton Hospital as soon as possible.
