Sadly every year many families suffer the pain and trauma of baby loss. We know how important it is to provide these families with the time and space to create precious memories with their baby which will need to last a lifetime.

As part of a commission for our new baby bereavement suite we are reaching out to parents who have experienced baby loss to help us develop ideas for a new artwork for the space. Workshops will be held in Crewe and online on 26th April and 3rd May. For further details please contact Arts Manager, Deborah Riding, deborah.riding@mcht.nhs.uk
A dedicated suite and attached outside space
By supporting this appeal you will help us to provide the funds to create a dedicated suite and attached outside space on the labour ward for bereaved parents. The suite will allow parents to stay together with their baby in a comfortable, non-clinical environment and provide an outside space where families can spend quiet time together away from the rest of the ward.
The suite will comprise of a bedroom with drop down double bed so that parents are able to stay together, a separate lounge and kitchen and most importantly a nursery room. There will also be a separate entrance and exit and dedicated parking spaces.
How can you help?
We are delighted to have reached the target for this appeal. Work to create the suite has started, is progressing well and we hope it will be open by summer 2023.
In the meantime we still welcome donations to the fund which will go towards funding all the furniture, soft furnishings, kitchen and nursery equipment and will ensure that any additional comforts or soft furnishings are able to be purchased for the suite well into the future.

Additional information
We are raising funds to create a dedicated baby bereavement suite at Leighton Hospital. There is a small chance we will raise more than we need for this project. If this happens, or if for any unforeseen reason we are unable to proceed with the whole re-development project, your gift will be used to purchase equipment, furnishings and similar items which will benefit families affected by baby loss at Leighton Hospital. Your gift may also be used for staff development and training which directly benefits people affected by baby loss.

Speak to us about getting involved today so we can make a difference tomorrow.
