About MCH Charity

What we do

Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity is a registered charity which supports the excellent work of Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We do this by providing funding for state-of-the-art equipment, new facilities and all the added extras that make people's experience at our hospitals and in our community services the best it can be.

We also provide funding for specialist training for Trust staff, which enhances their skills and helps them to provide even better care to their patients. We also provide grants which help to support and improve staff wellbeing.

We couldn't do any of this without the ongoing support, hard work and generosity of our local communities who donate to, and fundraise for, the charity.

We are members of the Fundraising Regulator and have signed up to the Fundraising Promise

We are also members of NHS Charities Together

We have created a new strategy to help guide the charity over the next three years. To read the strategy click here.

In November 2022 we were announced recipients of a Special Recognition Award in the category of Contribution to the Community at South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.

Just some of the ways your support makes a difference

New play area for Child and Adolescent Unit

£62k was granted to create a new outside play area for children on CAU. This means poorly children can still spend time outside playing and get some much needed time away from the ward environment.

Reminiscence Interactive Therapy Activity (RITA) units

£31,200 was granted to purchase a number of these high tech units for wards at Leighton Hospital. The units are pre-loaded with films, music, news clips and games and are used to calm, reassure and entertain people living with dementia who are being cared for within our services.

Specialist Infusion Pumps

These state-of-the-art infusion pumps were purchased for the chemotherapy unit at Leighton Hospital. The pumps, which cost £20K, shorten the time people spend on the unit and improve patient comfort and safety.

We provided over £100,000 for equipment to improve patient care during the year

This is In addition to the above and includes equipment for Emergency Care, Paediatrics and Medical Imaging. We exist because we believe that everyone who visits Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust should have an experience that exceeds their expectations.

Supporting the NHS trust

We fund items which are 'over and above' basic NHS provision. This means we can add value to the care and experience of patients and their loved ones by enhancing the environment, funding state-of-the-art equipment and by providing all the added extras which make a difference every day.

Training staff & enhancing skills

We also fund specialised training for our staff, which enhances their skills and helps them to provide even better care to their patients. We couldn’t do any of this without the ongoing support, hard work and generosity of our local communities who donate to, and fundraise for, the charity.

We need your help & support

You can support any area of our hospitals (Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, or Elmshurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford) or our community based services by making a donation, fundraising for the charity, or by leaving a gift in your Will.

Your support makes a real difference

Every year we spend thousands of pounds helping to make our services the best they can be for patients and staff. The charity exists to enhance and improve the care and experience of patients, so everything we pay for is ‘over and above’ what the NHS provides as standard.
