Four members of the Respiratory Team who care for patients on Ward 3 at Leighton Hospital took on the challenge of completing the Chester Half Marathon to help raise funds for our End of Life Care Appeal. Chris, Duncan, Liz and Tracey wanted to do something to help support the appeal and were determined to raise enough to fund one of the sleeper chairs that the charity is currently raising funds for. The charity is aiming to raise £23,520 to pay for 16 chairs which will ensure that anyone needing to stay with a loved one overnight during their final days and hours will have somewhere comfortable to get some rest, whilst staying close by.
The team smashed their original target of £1,400 and eventually raised an incredible £2,368 for the appeal.
