When planning improvements to the Urology Outpatients Reception and waiting area, staff wanted to create a more calming and welcoming environment for patients. They felt it was important to visually connect the space to the private outdoor courtyard garden, offering a sense of nature and tranquillity while remaining sensitive to the needs of both male and female patients.
To bring this vision to life, artist Jac Seifert of Orakel Workshop was commissioned to develop a nature-inspired design scheme. The final artwork draws on the planting in the garden, featuring botanical motifs that appear across custom wallpaper and window vinyls, subtly linking the indoor and outdoor spaces to support a more soothing patient experience.
