MCH Charity funded equipment charges 1000 patient devices a month

A charge box funded by Mid Cheshire Hospitals charity charged nearly 4000 devices in Leighton Hospital’s Emergency Department (ED) between August and December last year.

If you’ve visited Leighton Hospital’s ED over the last few months, you might have noticed the newly installed charge box in the waiting room.

We understand how difficult the time patients spend in ED can be, and whether you’re there with your own concern, or accompanying an unwell loved-one, we know how important it is to stay in touch with your friends and family and keep them updated when you find yourself in hospital unexpectedly.

With this in mind, we were delighted to fund this great piece of kit, to help patients, and those accompanying them, stay in touch with their loved ones while in ED. It’s a small thing that we hope will make what might be difficult experiences for our patients and their loved-ones that little bit easier.

The charge box has been in place since August 2022, and is charging around 1000 devices per month, becoming a valued addition to the waiting room.

At Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity we support the excellent work of Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We do this by providing funding for state-of-the-art equipment and new facilities – along with added extras like this, that make people’s experience at our hospitals and in our community services the best it can be.

We couldn’t do any of this without the ongoing support, hard work and generosity of our local communities who donate to, and fundraise for, the charity. If you would like to make a donation to help fund fantastic equipment like the charge box, click here.
