Wheelchair Service improves experience for young patients thanks to donations

One of the aims of MCH Charity is to improve the experience of people using local NHS services. We were recently asked to help with a project at the Trust’s Wheelchair Service, which is based at Infinity House, Crewe.

Now, thanks to the generosity of our supporters we've been able to fund a range of wall fixed sensory play panels which are already having an impact on the younger patients attending for an appointment.

Advanced Clinical Specialist Mary Foulerton said, 'Since the panels were installed, we've noticed that children are having a better experience whilst they’re here which makes things easier for them, for their carers and for us.

‘Some of our patients find attending appointments quite challenging so anything we can do to help calm and distract them is really important.

‘The whole team would like to say thank you to anyone who has supported the charity by making a donation or through fundraising, we’re so grateful for the sensory panels, they’re great.’
