Celebrating our new staff courtyard!

This month, we celebrated our beautiful new courtyard garden- and thanked the volunteers whose hard work created this wonderful space!

The fantastic staff here at MCHFT work tirelessly to provide outstanding care to our patients, and the trust’s Health and Wellbeing Board have been working on a project designed to ensure that staff have adequate spaces to relax, and get some fresh air on their breaks.

As part of this project, work has recently taken place to revamp one of the courtyards at Leighton.

The newly revamped staff courtyard.

This courtyard is close to outpatients, so it’s the perfect space for staff to take some time to rest and relax during their shifts.

The courtyards at Leighton are maintained by our gardening volunteers and funded by MCH Charity.

We are so grateful to our incredible volunteers for donating their time to create this beautiful space, that we just had to thank them with a cuppa and a cake!

Thank you to everyone involved in bringing this project to life, we hope that this wonderful courtyard will be enjoyed by our staff for many years to come as a place to unwind and recharge.

The volunteers that brought the project to life.

At Leighton Hospital we are lucky to have several courtyards, with spaces available for use for patient rehabilitation, and by patients and their families, on the Stroke Unit, Critical Care Unit and Urology Outpatients.

Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer gardener should contact Jo Newbrook, Volunteer Manager, at: jo.newbrook@mcht.nhs.uk

Anyone interested in supporting the future development of the courtyards can make a donation via the charity, here.
