Kindhearted Alexa brings festive joy to children in hospital

When Alexa realised there were children who would spend December in hospital she wanted to do something to help, so she decided to use her own money to buy advent calendars for all the children on CAU at Leighton Hospital.
After speaking to the charity team and learning more about the fundraising appeal to create a dedicated waiting room at Victoria Infirmary, Northwich Alexa then decided she wanted to do even more, so she set herself the challenge of doing an 8 mile sponsored walk to raise money for the appeal too!

Alexa's mum Holly said, 'Alexa enjoys helping people and had asked to raise money for charity. She wanted to raise money for MCH as she was on the baby unit for 8 days after she was born so we often talk about the hospital.
After finding out about the appeal for the children’s waiting area at the Victoria Infirmary she was very excited because we have used the Infirmary twice this year after Alexa had an accident at school and her sister also had to visit to have her head glued.'
Alexa did an amazing job and managed to raise £487.50 for the appeal and visited Leighton Hospital to personally deliver the advent calendars.
We were blown away by Alexa's generosity, kindness and hard work so we were delighted to present her with a Young Fundraiser award during her visit.
This won't be the last we'll see of Alexa, she's already thinking about what will be her next fundraising challenge. Huge thanks Alexa, we think you're fabulous!
